Description

Summary:

· Incumbent is responsible for activities related to an assigned storage area. Receive, store, identify, disburse and inventory material, supplies and equipment, and maintains records and files. Reports directly to Production Lead or his/her designate.

Job Duties:

· Issues and receives all tools, consumable parts, and manufacturing supplies and disburses to shop floor employees and is held accountable for them.

· Performs daily inspection of tooling as it is handed out and received and notes any damages.

· Insures the sign out of drawings and tools by the personnel requesting them from the stockroom.

· Insures that all drawings, JIND, special instructions, and revisions promptly made to drawing racks as they are received from Drafting/Engineering and purges as necessary.

· Orders new drawings from Drafting/Engineering as necessary to replace damaged drawings/sticks. 

· Will issue and keep employee records of company issues equipment.

· Notify production lead of excessive usage.

· Closely watches inventory of all items kept in stockroom and/or production areas and initiates requisitions based upon rate of consumption, lead time and other considerations such as maximum stock levels.

· Confers with the department Production Lead relative to disposition of obsolete or oversupply items.

· Receives all ordered materials for inventory in stockroom and promptly places them in proper place before next shift.

· Performs minor maintenance on some tools and equipment stored in stockroom as directed by production lead.

· Writes maintenance work orders for items needing repair and assures the return of all equipment sent to Maintenance with work orders.

· Insures proper dispensing and return of welding consumables.

· Daily control of air tools, hand burning torches and hydraulic jacks.

· Nameplate stamping per requirement.

· May be required, as necessary, to perform basic tool room tasks.

· Observes safe working procedures and conforms to good housekeeping standards.

· Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor or his/her designate.

Requirements

Education and Experience Required: 

· Must pass proficiency test.

Working Conditions:

· May be required to move items up to 60 pounds for distances of up to 10 feet. May be required to stand, stoop, bend, kneel and squat for extended periods of time. May be exposed to fumes or dust, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather, moving mechanical parts and moderate to loud noise levels. Must wear appropriate protective gear and clothing as necessary.
